AI setup

See a project's instruction files and skills, and deploy skills from any folder into its editor tool folders.

A skill is a folder with a SKILL.md file, the same format your coding agents read. Plug does not keep its own library; it manages what each project uses.

What Plug detects

For each project, the AI setup tab lists the instruction files the repo already has (CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md, rule folders, skill folders) and lets you edit them in place, and shows the skills deployed into the project for each tool, with whether each copy is a link or a copy.

Deploying skills

Choose a source folder: Loadout’s library at ~/.loadout, one of the folders your agents already read, or any folder you pick. Select the skills, choose Linked deploy (symlink, so edits land everywhere) or Copy snapshot, and confirm. Before writing, Plug shows the exact files that would be replaced; unrelated files are never touched, and writes are atomic.

Where skills go

Each tool preset writes into the project-relative folder that tool expects. Cursor, Claude Code and Kilocode are on by default; Windsurf, GitHub Copilot, Continue, Zed, JetBrains AI, Amazon Q, Aider, VS Code agent skills and OpenCode can be switched on per project or globally, with custom paths.
