Getting started

Getting started

Install Plug Desktop, start the 7-day trial, and add your first project.

Plug Desktop runs on macOS, Windows and Linux. It works entirely on your machine; a Plug account is only needed for Cloud sync.

Start the trial

Open the app and choose Start Free Trial. Enter an email address and the 7-day trial starts on this device. One trial is available per device. If you already own a licence, choose Enter License Key instead and paste the key from your account’s billing page.

Add a project

Open Projects and add a folder. Plug detects the language, package manager, scripts, Docker setup, git remote and AI configuration files, and gives the project its own tabs: Commands, Dependencies, Files, APIs, Database, Docker, Git, GitHub, AI setup and Bookmarks.

Find anything

Press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows and Linux) to open the command palette. Ctrl+` opens a terminal, ⌘⇧A the AI chat, ⌘⇧G git, and ⌘, settings. Modules you do not use can be switched off in Settings → Features.
